Mexico’s increasingly powerful drug traffickers operate throughout the United States and beyond as well as in Mexico. “We frequently see insufficient resources and infrastructure to persecute those who carry out small-scale or fragmented marijuana trafficking in the United States” Eduardo Medina Mora said at a joint news conference with the US Director of the ffice of National Drug Control Policy Gil Kerlikowske in Mexico City. “ne of our biggest concerns is that the United States doesn’t give up and that it increases persecutions of crimes related to the trafficking of marijuana from Mexico to the United States” Medina Mora said. Mexican President Felipe Calderon would bring up the issue with US President Barack bama during a meeting in Mexico next month Medina Mora added.

Production at the mine — deep under the tundra at FlinFlon Manitoba — had to be moved because the facility was notbig enough and a deal to expand it had not been worked outoperator Prairie Plant Systems said on Wednesday. The mine had been producing legal marijuana for nearly adecade since Canada began allowing patients legal access tomarijuana for medical reasons such as controlling pain. The switch to another location prompted media reports thatthe operation had gone up in smoke but Prairie Plant’s ChiefExecutive Brent Zettl said that was premature. Zettl still hopes to strike a deal with mine owner HudBayMinerals Inc (. T) to expand marijuana operations within themine and said a final decision will not be made until the endof the month.

The suspects have been identified as Kevin David Antone 18 of Warren; Thomas Henry Post 17 of Roseville; Jacob Steven Androsuk 17 and Brandon Lee Ebel 16 both of Warren officials said. The three older teens were arraigned earlier today in 37th District Court in Warren and each pleaded not guilty. A district court judge set bond for each of the three teens at $1 million according to Warren Police Commissioner William Dwyer. The trio is scheduled to appear in court on Aug.
