Also legalization IS an eco-friendly cause. Hemp is an amazing plant and has over 25000 industrial uses besides medicine and recreational. It’s a stronger paper than what we get from trees; it’s a stronger and more durable fabric than cotton or polyester; it’s an efficient renewable biofuel; it actually rejuvinates the land it grows in instead of leaving it fallow for an entire season… and legalizing marijuana would allow US farmers to FINALLY start growing this incredibly useful plant again. We import it but can’t grow it – that’s insane.

Now two Morgan Hill men are looking to open a medical marijuana dispensary in north Gilroy to serve South County patients. ne of the difficulties dispensaries face has been the response of the federal government. Under the administration of George W. Bush federal agents raided California dispensaries selling medical cannabis claiming the state had no right to pass the bill since marijuana was prohibited under federal law.
