Palmdale man held for posing as marijuana doctor

—A Palmdale man has been arrested after authorities say he posed as a doctor and sold prescriptions for medical marijuana. Michael Washington 29 was arrested Wednesday for investigation of practicing medicine without a license. Los Angeles County sheriff’s Sgt. Kyle Bistline says Washington who has no California medical license apparently sold certificates for $25 each stating that he was the attending physician for people so they could obtain medical marijuana. Bistline says some of the certificates were accepted at medical marijuana dispensaries.

fficers were alerted to the house on Toston Drive Wollaton after a tip-off from concerned neighbours. Along with 522 cannabis plants they also found specialist growing equipment including high-powered lamps and other drug-related items. Police are continuing to investigate but say nobody has been arrested at this stage. The neighbours’ suspicions were roused by shut windows closed curtains and no sign of anyone living at the house.
