The San Antonio Express-News reports U. Customs and Border Protection identified 29-year-old Ramiro Pena Castillo of Nuevo Laredo Mexico as the suspect. He was turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

The drug has a street value of $112000. “CBP officers on a daily basis encounter people trying to smuggle contraband into the country. This seizure is an example of the hard work Brownsville’s CBP officers undertake every day to secure the homeland” said Michael Freeman CBP Port Director Brownsville. Hidrogo was turned over to ICE special agents and will face federal drug charges.

(AP) — Former Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Jimmy Smith pleaded not guilty to several charges Thursday including possession of cocaine and marijuana. Smith 40 also pleaded not guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license. A fifth charge possessing or selling a controlled substance was dropped. Smith did not attend the arraignment at Duval County Courthouse. He was represented in court by his attorney Hank Coxe who did not comment on the case after the hearing.
