S Drug Enforcement Administration agents descended on Emmalyn’s California Cannabis Clinic Wednesday afternoon. Agents loaded up several pickup trucks parked outside as they carried out marijuana plants grow lights and other equipment. Saying the specific reason for the raid is under court seal the DEA would only say the dispensary is suspected of violating federal and state law. Emmalyn’s had been providing free marijuana to the poor on Wednesdays. The dispensary had been operating with a temporary permit issued by the Department of Public Health.

Authorities said Friday thirty-three-year-old Devon Eileen Abbott and her boyfriend Soloman Brian Silver conspired to hide a shotgun marijuana and prescription pills in the car of Sunny Hills High School teacher Gregory Abbott. The teacher was arrested on drug and weapons charges but these were dropped when it became apparent he was the victim of a setup. Silver pleaded guilty to a felony count of possession of a firearm by a felon and was sentenced to three years in prison. Brian Caufield 31 was killed Thursday night in the Sherman aks area of Los Angeles. Police said a preliminary investigation revealed Caufield had invited three men inside possibly to sell them marijuana. nce inside at least two of them identified themselves as police and attempted to rob Caufield of drugs and cash police said. Caufield’s roommate was handcuffed by one of the men and Caufield was taken into a bedroom by another man. Police said there was a struggle and Caufield was shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
