Under the legislation people with a doctor’s permission wouldbe eligible for a state registry card allowing up to sevenmarijuana plants in their homes and 2 ounces of “usablecannabis. ” The measure is written to expire after three years. Advocates say marijuana eases pain without the side effects ofheavier drugs and reduces nausea from chemotherapy. “There is needless suffering going on out there” said thesponsor Rep.

A revised Department of Motor Vehicles’ training memo instructs agency staff to treat medical marijuana like any other prescription drug when considering whether to renew a driver’s license. Medical marijuana advocates released the memo this week and credited the changes to lawsuits filed by medical marijuana patients whose licenses were revoked. A DMV spokesman said the revisions do not represent a new policy but merely spell out guidelines already in practice. Medical marijuana is legal in California under a voter-approved ballot measure passed in 1996.

html More than 4400 pounds of marijuana were discovered Monday inside an 18-wheeler truck that was “cloned” to resemble an H-E-B grocery vehicle authorities said. He declined to comment on where the truck was located in the city of Houston and noted that arrests are pending.
