Police seize home-grown cannabis

A total of 56 cannabis plants with a street value of £56000 were recovered from properties in Commercial Street and Laurel Gardens Crook. Tablets and a substance believed to be amphetamine were also seized from a house in Commercial Street Willington. Two men both aged 33 have been arrested and bailed on suspicion of drug offences Durham Police said.

Soldiers were patrolling Manuel Gomez Morin Boulevard at 12:30 a. Tuesday when they spotted a suspicious vehicle they followed to a warehouse named Concentration Center officials said. Soldiers searched the warehouse and found 603 packets of marijuana of various sizes packing materials and a trailer.

According to Vermont State Police they stopped the car after observing a motor vehicle violation and identified the driver as Eugene Bisson of Barre. Also in the car were 38-year-old Allen McMillan of Barre and two juveniles Bisson’s grandchildren ages 11 and 14. During the stop troopers detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Bisson ultimately consented to a search of the car which revealed a partially-smoked marijuana “cigarette” in the ash tray.
