‘Narco traffickers’ behind large-scale Utah marijuana farms
Salt Lake Tribune, United States
Federal drug enforcers say cartels accustomed to the West Coast appear to have moved some operations to Utah, which has a suitable climate and relative proximity to California and Mexico. “These are large-scale, narco traffickers,” said Scott Burns, the deputy “drug czar” at the U. Office of National Drug Control Policy.

Sheriff’s detectives arrest Live Oak man for marijuana sales …
San Jose Mercury News,  USA
The bust came after a two-month investigation into pot sales, according to Sgt. Steve Carney, head of the Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Enforcement Team. Carney said he suspects Adroa Anderson of Live Oak was running a one-man marijuana sales operation involving mostly street-level deals. Carney said Anderson had a valid medicinal marijuana card and that he was within the county’s medicinal parameters, but that the overtones of criminal activity — namely the loaded guns, scales and pot packaged to sell — contradicted Anderson’s medical claim.
