Bobbie Wooten, 47, uses a wheelchair because she was paralyzed from the waist down in a car crash several years ago and suffers severe spasms. She joined the state’s medical marijuana program when it went into effect last year. A management representative for Silver Cliffs apartments did a surprise inspection Tuesday and spotted two marijuana plants she has for medical use under a state license, Wooten said. She said the representative returned a short time later with a notice that she had three days to move.

The blue 2006 Dodge Ram truck is believed to have crossed the border from Mexico before being abandoned in a remote area west of the Tinajas Altas Mountain Range, 20 miles south of Wellton, the patrol said in a news release. Agents on Thursday discovered tracks that led to the truck. Inside, they found plastic-wrapped bundles of marijuana weighing 2,127 pounds, the release said. The person or people traveling in the vehicle returned to Mexico, the patrol said.
