Not because we are unconvinced about the medical benefits the drug could provide some sick and dying people. There is a growing body of research and patient testimonials about marijuana’s medical properties, despite federal drug laws that say it has no accepted medical use.

Lahde’s letter, he said that; “Hemp is the ‘male plant’ [metaphorically speaking, hemp is, like the male Cannabis plant, useless as a drug] and it grows like a weed, hence the slang term. ” This is not quite correct, however, as hemp is both female and male, but is distinct from the drug varieties of Cannabis because it contains virtually no THC, the chemical that generates a high.

Iowa County Authorities Seize Marijuana, Aircraft

When deputies arrived, they saw an aircraft matching the description leaving the airport. Sheriff’s deputies stopped the aircraft on the runway and a K-9 officer indicated that the plane contained drugs, according to a news release from the Iowa County Sheriff’s Department. Sheriff Steven Michek said in a news release that deputies discovered about 150 pounds of marijuana in the plane and some cash. Authorities estimated that the marijuana has a street value of $675,000. Authorities said the pilot, Trevor K. Ryan, 29, of Ukiah, Calif. , was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to deliver marijuana.

The fire occurred around 10 a. Sunday at a home on Alyssum Road in Carlsbad. Firefighters from Encinitas and Carlsbad found a small fire in an upstairs bedroom of the home.
