Kevin Dickes, who has a medical-marijuana card, faced up to six years in prison. He was scheduled to go to trial in Arapahoe County District Court in February. Dickes said he needed the marijuana to help him with the pain he has suffered daily since a grenade landed next to him in Kuwait when he served there as a Marine in 1991. He has no feeling below his right calf and suffers from chronic vascular disease. Police swarmed Dickes’ Aurora home on April 27 on a tip from a neighbor… Kevin Dickes, who has a medical-marijuana card, faced up to six years in prison. SWAT officers opened his door and threw him to the ground and pointed their guns directly at him, according to Dickes. Dickes’ attorney, Rob Corry, was pleased with the decision and said he will file a motion Monday to have Dickes’ possessions returned, including the pot plants.

DEA tries new push against medical marijuana

Sacramento-based agents of the U. Drug Enforcement Administration have sent nearly a dozen letters out in the last month to dispensaries’ landlords in the latest effort against medical marijuana. However, medical marijuana advocates – who saw about 200 DEA letters roll out near Los Angeles this summer – say federal officials are being too heavy-handed against something California voters approved a decade ago.

The report says the officer smelled marijuana when he approached the car to issue a citation. Vikings coach Brad Childress says he was notified of the allegations and have beendealing with the Minneapolis Police Department. He said he’d have further comment once all the facts have been gathered and the investigation is complete. Childress didn’t say whether Smith would play in Monday night’s game against the Chicago Bears at the Metrodome. He did practice with the team today.

Vendor fined on Cannabis charge

Magistrate Joan Fung placed Itamba Adams of Cooks Hill on a two-year probation to be of good behaviour. During this period, he will be under the supervision of the Probation Department. Adams pleaded guilty to possession of 15 cannabis plants. Another charge of cultivation to which he pleaded not guilty was dismissed, after no evidence was offered by the prosecution.
