“We need to get rid of the idea that cannabis is really OK,” said Mr Smyth. “What is largely unseen are our psychiatric hospitals full of people whose illnesses have been triggered by cannabis. ”
He said it was important to get the message across to children at junior school age of the downsides of the drug. The police have the support of some health professionals who fear the potency of different types of cannabis, including skunk, is misunderstood.

In December 2006, he was arrested in Dallas on marijuana possession charges. Carter signed with Bossier-Shreveport in 2007, was suspended for four games for skipping practices, but subsequently returned to the team and finished the season, leading the Battle Wings to a playoff berth. His one-year contract with the af2 team, a spokesman said, has expired. For his NFL career, Carter appeared in 37 games and completed 542 of 960 passes for 6,337 yards, with 32 touchdown passes and 37 interceptions.

- New Hampshire authorities arrested two men after confiscating marijuana, cultivation equipment and drug paraphernalia during raids on their homes. Darby Laberge, 50, and Otto Foster, 47, were charged with felony manufacturing a controlled drug and were released on personal recognizance bail. Authorities said they seized five marijuana plants, several ounces of dried marijuana, cultivation equipment and a digital scale from Laberge’s home. They said they found 10 marijuana plants, cultivation equipment and a variety of marijuana seeds inside Foster’s home. com

Police arrested two Thai men, Mongkol Khanajote, 29, and Bansorn Dejhome, 40, who admitted that they were hired by a man in Nakhon Phanom to take up the drug from the Mekong bank on the Thai side to a man in Nakhon Phhanom downtown. Acting on tip-off, police staked out near the river bank in Ban Klang Noi village in Muang district early Sunday morning. Police found six Laotians unloading 16 sacks of marijuana from their boat. There is no link to criminal behavior. “The British Raj Commission Report on Indian Hemp reported that marijuana produced minimal harmful effects and found no reason to restrict the use of marijuana. The Nixon Blue Ribbon Report of 1972 found that marijuana does not cause violent aggressive behavior, does not lead to the use of harder drugs, does not constitute a major public health problem, does not lead to major chromosomal or brain damage, and does not lead to physical dependency. The commission advocated the decriminalization of marijuana for private use. (This commission was disbanded after reporting these findings. )Marijuana does not ‘lead’ to other drugs.
