25–Wake County authorities found nearly $2 million worth of marijuana in a drug raid Friday in which two men were arrested. Sheriff’s deputies were investigating a complaint at 4825 Reconcili.

A Home Office spokesman said: “We will be asking the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs to review the classification of cannabis, given the increase in strength of some cannabis strains and their potential harms. “It would be wrong to prejudge that review which shows how seriously we take our priority of reducing drug related harm. “Our message has always been that cannabis is a harmful and illegal drug… A Home Office spokesman said: “We will be asking the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs to review the classification of cannabis, given the increase in strength of some cannabis strains and their potential harms. “It would be wrong to prejudge that review which shows how seriously we take our priority of reducing drug related harm. “Our message has always been that cannabis is a harmful and illegal drug. “Drug use, including cannabis, drug-related crime and drug-related harm have all fallen in recent years, but to tackle drugs in the most effective way we need to monitor and review the ways in which we reduce the harm caused by illegal substances. n Anyone wanting “open, unbiased information” about cannabis-use in relation to Multiple Sclerosis should contact the Multiple Sclerosis Resource Centre on 01206 505444.

In announcing an upcoming federal anti-drug campaign, Health Minister Tony Clement stated the obvious this week. "The messages young people have received during the past several years have been confusing and conflicting to say the least. " Clement specifically mentioned the on-off debate on marijuana: It "has left an entire generation confused over whether or not pot is legal. " He felt it necessary to remind his audience: "Ladies and gentlemen, it is not. "The young aren’t the only ones who appear confused. For the past three decades, Ottawa has moved back and forth on the pros and cons of decriminalizing marijuana possession (not legalizing the drug). He said owners of the farms attacked NDLEA Operatives with guns and other dangerous weapons at Ogbese forest in Akure North Local Government Area two weeks ago. Gaura said the Operatives retreated to map out fresh strategies to arrest the farmers and destroy their crops.
