"Hemp isn’t marijuana," explains Quinn, "It’s the male plant in that family and it’s grown in Manitoba. This may be a smoke-free zone, but leaving your treatment with cravings isn’t uncommon. Many of the wraps and packs used to pamper in the spa are 100 per cent edible and 100 per cent natural, Quinn explains. "We want to use a product that you can eat off your skin," says Quinn of the host of treatments that include blackberry port and local blueberries.

The raids happened at about 8am yesterday at addresses in Red Lodge, Worlington and Bury St Edmunds and were the culmination of an intelligence gathering operation. An exact value of the drugs seized is not yet known but it is thought to be in the tens of thousands of pounds region. At one four-bedroom property raided by police in Abbotsbury Road, Bury, three of the bedrooms were filled with between 200 and 250 cannabis plants. Each room was criss-crossed by electric cables, foil ventilation tunnels and sophisticated hydroponic and lighting equipment… With its well-kempt drive and the proverbial cuddly toy perched behind a first floor window, it was almost an archetypal family home. Inside, however, that image is shattered. First comes the thick and pungent smell of cannabis plants. Then the noticeable lack of any furniture. Then comes the well-trodden blue carpet leading the way upstairs. On the first floor, three of the bedrooms are given over to the cultivation of cannabis plants. They cover the entire floor.
