Dominic Luna, 42, and Aaron Martinez, 31, were booked for investigation of cultivating marijuana and electricity theft. Martinez was found hiding in the attic of a Buckthorne Road home and Luna was found at a Atsina Road residence about five miles away where another marijuana farm was found, investigators said. The arrests and the raids were the latest in a series of marijuana cultivation operations found in Southern California homes in Chino Hills, Diamond Bar, Rowland Heights, Pomona and the Mojave Desert.

“It’s a weed smoking festival,” said Joe Smith, 18, who recentlymoved to Denver from Nevada. “I believe in the medicinal benefits ofmarijuana. “Everyone came together to smoke marijuana and chill,” said G. Hoovers, 20, of Aurora. There were no problems… There were no problems. The rally also drew about 100 Denver Police, including the SWATteam, the mounted patrol, undercover members of the vice and narcoticsbureau, the gang unit and other departments, said police spokeswomanVirginia Quinones. “Even though marijuana smoking isn’t illegal in Denver, it’s stillillegal in Colorado,” she said. Officers contacted people who were openly smoking marijuana andchecked identification, said Quinones. Those with outstanding warrantsfor other crimes were arrested and the rest were given citations forpossession and public consumption of marijuana. She said the number ofarrests and citations wouldn’t be available until later tonight. The crowd, many wearing leis of fabric marijuana leaves, wasfriendly and light-hearted.

In addition to his extensive touring, Merka hosts a show on BreaksFM, appeared on Radio 1 and Kiss FM and is preparing to head off to Australia in July to spread the message of underground breakbeat to the folks down under. Supporting are the Future Sounds Set residents, Eat Sound and Dance who’ll be stringing together some excellent beat-heavy bass bombs from the likes of FC Kahuna, Felix Da Housecat and LCD Soundsystem and admission is free.

Cannabis plants seized at house

Police raided a large Victorian house in Alberta Street on Friday morning and found hundreds of fully-grown cannabis plants. A man in his late 20s or early 30s was arrested at the scene and is being questioned by officers. Staffordshire Police said it was the ninth premises they had raided over cannabis production since January.
