Police searched the Katherine residence and found the cannabis plants with two operating growing lights. A bag containing 38g of cannabis leaf material was also found. A 45-year-old man, who was a resident of the Gorge Rd residence, was charged with cultivating cannabis and having a commercial quantity of the drug. Meanwhile, a separate raid on a residence on the same road found: 129g of cannabis leaf material, six semi-mature cannabis plants, two seedlings and cannabis seeds. A 35-year-old man has also been charged with cultivating cannabis and possessing a trafficable quantity of cannabis.

A 24-year-old Virginia man was arrested and charged with cultivation of cannabis and will appear in Elizabeth Magistrates Court tomorrow. Detective Superintendent Dickson said investigations into the cannabis operations could lead to further arrests. It is the second significant seizure as part of Police Operation County targeting outdoor cannabis production. In February more than 400 cannabis plants were found at a property in Meningie.
