29 Houston police, working on an anonymous tip, seized more than 7 tons of marijuana and charged a truck driver with drug trafficking. Harris County, Texas, Sheriff’s deputies said the suspect was driving from a warehouse at night but with the vehicle’s headlights off, the Houston Chronicle reported Friday. They searched the truck and allegedly found a small amount of cocaine and marijuana. An additional 502 bundles of marijuana were found in wooden crates in the warehouse, police said. ) HUNTLEY – A Huntley man was growing dozens of marijuana plants in a house where his wife and three children also live, police said Thursday. Police last week charged Jeffrey W. Nevens, 32, of 10849 Timer Drive, with seven counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana with the intent to deliver, and possession of 20 to 50 marijuana plants. Nevens and his wife, 40-year-old Annette M. Tures, also were charged with three counts of endangering the life of a child, Huntley police Sgt… Police notified the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services about the charges, Fulton said. Fulton said police continued to investigate whether Nevens was selling drugs from his house. By law, the amount of marijuana recovered led police to charge Nevens with intent to deliver, Fulton said. Nevens and Tures each posted bail and were released until a later court date.
