A SEMI-professional footballer who smuggled £8 million pounds of cannabis from Mexico to Britain hidden in wardrobes is facing jail. Andre Forrester, 38, of Thicket Road, Penge faces a substantial jail term after four tonnes of the drug were seized in the biggest ever bust by the Metropolitan Police. He is due to be sentenced alongside co-conspirators Laura Manders, 32, of Beaconsfield Road, Southwark and 43-year-old Richard Hobbs of Spring Grove Road, Hounslow on October 27. Jurors at Southwark Crown Court cleared three other men suspected of taking part in the drug smuggle. Peter Gaines, 47, of Winchcombe Gardens, Eltham, Donato Ciccone, 44, of Richmond Park, Loughton and Simon Calder, 39, of no fixed abode, were accused of unloading furniture stuffed full of drugs from lorries.
