“This is the
first time that an exhibit of this kind has been at the AIDS conference,” said
Hilary Black, spokeswoman for the Medical Marijuana Information Resource Center. “It’s possible that it may be the only time, until we see a global shift around
the policies governing this
plant. ”
Researchers say
marijuana can ease some types of severe and chronic pain as well as symptoms
like nausea better and with fewer side effects than many prescription remedies. While marijuana use is not
generally legal in Canada, the federal government runs a medical marijuana
program, although only about a quarter of medical marijuana users infected with
HIV get their cannabis through legal sources, Black

Forest Service and other law enforcement agencies staged both raids Aug… Two suspects were corralled and their escape route led them directly to an awaiting SWAT team. The two, Jesus Mejia, 25, and his brother Gabriel Mejia, 19, were arrested, interviewed and booked into the Payson Gila County Jail. Both were charged with conspiracy to manufacture marijuana and possession of marijuana. Agents say all gardens found this summer have featured basically the same growing operation. Ryner, 147 Lake Warren Drive, was arrested for cultivation of marijuana and possession of a firearm and ammunition without a FOID card. Acting on a Crime Stoppers tip, the Warren County Sheriff’s office and Monmouth Police Department searched the property after obtaining a search warrant from the Warren County State’s Attorney Office. Ryner, who was held pending a bond hearing, may face additional charges.

According to the report, a gallon-size bag of marijuana was not recovered. A second man, Derrick Lawrence, 37, was also charged with possession of less than 1 ounce of marijuana. The arrest report claims Lawrence was in Carter’s room at the time, but his relationship to the rapper is unclear.
