ST. CROIX – A three-day marijuana-eradication operation carried out by local and federal law enforcement agencies yielded more than 6,000 plants this week. Gene Hawk, Drug Enforcement Administration resident agent in charge, said the St. Croix operation began Tuesday morning, utilizing a number of officers from various agencies to seek out and destroy marijuana fields planted across the island. He said officers traveled by air, sea and ground transportation to find the plants. Hawk said that this week’s operation was a huge success, thanks to the hard work of the law enforcement officers and a number of residents who provided information about where some fields were located… He said officers traveled by air, sea and ground transportation to find the plants.
