Fort Lauderdale Police expect to charge him today in another murder that he has already confessed to — that of Angel Pedro Medina, 41, of Margate. Bethell was being held without bond in Fort Lauderdale’s Main Jail on Sunday on charges of murder, armed robbery, grand theft and credit card fraud. Records show in March 1983, a month shy of his 18th birthday, he was arrested in Leon County.

Mcneal MIAMI _ Since moving to a shelter at the Westgate Tabernacle Church last fall, Javier Arroyo had been trying to get his life on track. Up until then, Arroyo, a convicted felon, had lost his job and was struggling to keep a roof over his family’s head. He continued to have problems with his probation, and was once sent back to prison for six months after he was caught with marijuana. But this time _ determined to provide for his wife and infant son _ he found a job and kept it. He went to work daily, helped out at the church and won the respect of church workers for his dedication.

I was in possession of class C drugs, which is an offense, and I have no complaints about the police, who were professional throughout. Michael was arrested in 1998 for engaging in a “lewd act” in a Los Angeles public restroom.

And he told her that if he took a urine test, which is a general requirement of probation, the result would be “dirty,” meaning he would test positive for drugs. He knew it was no excuse, he later told a judge, but he used marijuana because he was “under a lot of stress. ” He told the probation officer he also had taken his wife’s prescription Vicodin. He had with him a knife that he used for work, according to court testimony, which is also not allowed under probation rules. The probation officer said she had gotten “anonymous calls” that Blankenship had been drinking and using drugs. To people who don’t spend time around jailhouses and courtrooms, all this might sound pretty bad.

George Michael’s Latest SlumpPop singer George Michael was arrested yesterday in London on suspicion of drug possession after he was found slumped in a car, British police sources say. Michael, 42, who has sold more than 80 million records worldwide during a 25-year career, was arrested in Hyde Park early yesterday. London police issued a statement that, while not mentioning the singer by name, said a 42-year-old man was being held on suspicion of possessing Class-C drugs, which includes cannabis, tranquilizers and some painkillers. "We were called by a member of the public to a man seen slumped over the steering wheel of a car," the statement said. He was released later yesterday, Reuters reports, but must return next month to answer formal charges, pending a police investigation. Michael’s manager and publicist could not be reached for comment. In 1998, the singer pleaded no contest to committing a lewd act in a public restroom at a Beverly Hills, Calif.
