No, it’s normal people, people driving tractorsor whatever. " Viktor Mravcik is the director of state agency the National MonitoringCentre for Drugs and Drug Addiction. He says another change in the lastdecade and a half is that cannabis has become a business. "The market and distribution of marijuana has changed. In the past itwas given for free or it was very cheap. It wasn’t commercialised. Therewasn’t a market for it, let’s say at the beginning of the ’90s.

DUTCH DRUGGING NOT FOR FREEDOM

marijuana laws prevent farmers from growing the same hemp plant that proliferates in nature by the millions. From 1776 to 1937, hemp was a major American crop and textiles made from hemp were common. Yet, The American Textile Museum, The Smithsonian Institute, and most American history books contain no mention of hemp. The government's War on Marijuana Smokers has created an atmosphere of self censorship–speaking of hemp in a positive manner is considered taboo. United States Presidents George Washington and Thomas Jefferson grew hemp, used products made from hemp, and praised the hemp plant in some of their writings… Under the laws written by today's politicians, George Washington and Thomas Jefferson would be considered a threat to society–they would be arrested and thrown in prison for the felony crime of growing plants. No other natural resource offers the potential of hemp. Cannabis Hemp is capable of producing significant quantities of paer, textiles, building materials, food, medicine, paint, detergent, varnish, oil, ink, and fuel. Unlike other crops, hemp can grow in most climates and on most farmland throughout the world with moderate water and fertilizer requirements, no pesticides, and no herbicides. Cannabis Hemp (also known as Indian Hemp) has enormous potential to become a major natural resource that can benefit both the economy and the environment. Something I found on www.

- Holders of medical marijuana cards in Oregonwill now be allowed to have up to one-and-a-half pounds of driedmarijuana and six mature plants. That is the new limit under a new state law which takes effect January 1. The increased possession limit is part of an effort to clear upambiguities in the state’s 1998 medical marijuana program. One of the co-sponsors of the new medical marijuana law saysit’s aimed at putting the program “on more solid footing” bymaking it easier for police to interpret the law and harder forcriminals to exploit it. Current law allows cardholders and caregivers to grow threemature and four immature plants and to possess up to three ouncesof dried marijuana.

Truckee police recovered 157 marijuana plants, six pounds of processed pot, two handguns and nearly $4,000 in cash in an early morning pot raid in Glenshire on Friday. Police arrested Jon Michael James Steinbach, 27, on suspicion of cultivation of marijuana and possession of the drug for sale during the raid. Steinbach had a doctor’s recommendation for marijuana and a "grower’s identity" for Bay Area pot clubs, but the amount of drugs far exceeded the county guidelines for marijuana possession, police said. "Basically the Bay Area clubs have identified him as a certified grower for personal use," said Truckee police Lt. "That doesn’t provide him the lawful access to sell [marijuana]. "Marijuana use and possession, in limited amounts, is legal under California law with a doctor’s prescription.
