San Francisco Chronicle - Oct 21, 2005
Investigators believe Scott Dyleski, a scrawny 16-year-old boy from suburbia, beat his neighbor, the wife of a prominent lawyer and television commentator, to death Saturday with a piece of crown molding, said the sources, who talked to the Chronicle on the condition of anonymity. Then he carved some sort of T-shaped symbol into her back, they said. His victim, Pamela Vitale, a 52-year-old former software executive, fought and kicked her attacker so hard that she left a permanent impression of her foot on the molding he used to club her 39 times, according to the sources. Then her slayer drank a glass of water, washed his hands in the sink, took a shower in the couple’s mobile home and walked out, leaving the weapon behind, they said.
