Guillermo Paris, with a rental address at 39 Bun Caise, Rahoon, Galway, pleaded guilty to being in possession of € 20 worth of cannabis resin following his arrest for being drunk in public, at Eglinton Street, on September 23 last. Paris told Judge Mary Fahy that he earns a living by juggling on the streets. Judge Fahy remarked that it seemed a precarious way to make a living. She professed to knowing little about Spain, but said that whatever about that country, cannabis resin was not permitted in this country. She convicted and fined Paris € 200 for being in possession of the drug and a further € 100 for being drunk in public.
