Jamaican woman charged in BVI with cannabis possession

Lettsome International Airport last Wednesday evening after they suspected she was attempting to smuggle marijuana into the territory. Suzette Ann-Marie Morrison appeared in Magistrate’s Court Friday where she was ordered remanded in custody. The matter was adjourned until September 21 2005. Assistant Comptroller (Enforcement) Dean Fahie said that a customs officer discovered what appeared to be a quantity of marijuana in Morrison’s luggage, as she was going through routine clearance procedures after arriving on a LIAT flight from Jamaica via St…
She was immediately arrested and subsequently handed over to officers from the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force Drug Unit, who conducted an investigation into the incident. The police say Morrison’s luggage contained food items and while conducting the search, a large quantity ! of vegetable matter, suspected to be cannabis was discovered. Morrison is charged with unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to supply and unlawful importation of cannabis with intent to supply.

100 Pounds of Marijuana Confiscated in Acadia Parish

Deputies say they stopped the couple because of careless driving. In custody are 25-year-old Olson Edgar Garcia and 23-year-old Alejandrina Diaz. They are charged with possession with the intent to distribute marijuana. When deputies searched the car, they found two black Adidas bags stuffed with large bricks of marijuana. Sheriff Wayne Melancon says his deputies are on the look-out for drug runners. Melancon says the drugs were heading for a dealer in Baton Rouge, but the couple is not cooperating with investigators any further than that.
