Star blog on President Gloria ArroyoManalad said the suspect was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted based on information that he was involved in selling marijuana in the barangay, particularly to students of the Angeles City High School (ACHS). Manalad said laboratory tests show that the items contained tetra hydro cannabinol, an illegal drug produced by marijuana plants. During the police operation, the confidential agent bought again from the suspect P20 worth of marijuana. Members of the raiding team quickly ganged up on the suspect when he handed down the drug items.

- In this bust, police didn’t have to go searching. The operator came to them. Police said they found 12 garbage bags stuffed with suspected marijuana at a home in the Shannondale area of Jefferson County on Sunday afternoon after a woman decided to “come clean” about growing the drug…
Piled on a table in the room were 12 green garbage bags full of suspected marijuana. The suspected drug had been cut and put into the bags, Lupis said. The suspected marijuana was grown in the basement of the home in a hydroponics operation, Lupis said. Police also confiscated an electronic scale, bags used for packaging and two tanks of carbon dioxide, which help plants grow quicker, investigators said. Police said they are still trying to determine how much the drug would be worth on the street. The growing operation had existed for about two years, Lupis said.
Four charged in pot probe

Authorities said Sean and Dorlinda Piscopo, who were stopped by police in Hurley in April, had in their vehicle two of the packages, containing a total of about 90 pounds of marijuana in large, shrink-wrapped bundles, which police said they had picked up at the Quarry Road trailer earlier in the day. Police searched the trailer and found the third box, containing about 44 pounds of marijuana, that they said the couple was waiting for. Authorities said the Piscopos would have packages of marijuana shipped to the trailer, and after picking them up, would take the marijuana to their home in Wappingers Falls and Brunet’s Highland residence, which Wood called “hub distribution points,” to break it down into more “saleable” amounts for distribution in the Hudson Valley and Capital District. Authorities say the couple then mailed hundreds of thousands of dollars in payments for the marijuana back to Phoenix. A search of the Piscopos’ home turned up additional marijuana, packaging material, drug records and package receipts. “We know the operation in Phoenix was quite extensive, and it didn’t just target this area,” Wood said at a press conference announcing the arrests Monday afternoon. Since 1994, authorities said, Gonzalez has distributed more than 20 tons of marijuana in Arizona, New York and Michigan…

Since 1994, authorities said, Gonzalez has distributed more than 20 tons of marijuana in Arizona, New York and Michigan. The subject of a 62-count indictment, Gonzalez remains at large. Wood characterized Brunet and the Piscopos as “mid-level facilitators of what obviously is a very large-scale marijuana operation.
