Last Thursday and Friday, authorities searched four homes in Ruther Glen, Powhatan, Tappahannock and Colonial Heights, seizing 1,084 high-quality marijuana plants and about three pounds of processed marijuana with a total estimated street value of $3,261,000. Documents and three vehicles were also seized, they said at a Monday news conference. At the first home, a total of 944 marijuana plants, in various stages of growth, and a pound of processed marijuana were seized. At the second home, authorities said they took 140 marijuana plants and about two pounds of processed marijuana. “The interiors of both residences had been expertly converted into fully-operational marijuana ‘grow houses,’” said Lt. Supreme Court in a crushing blow to the medical marijuana movement ruled that the federal government had the authority to prosecute people whose actions are legal under state law. Law enforcement sources said the clubs were not targeted for drug operations but say they were allegedly being used as fronts for money-laundering operations…
